OLD TIME HAND CORN SHELLER

 Simple Man Makin It DO

By using this an old hand corn sheller, which I have  bolted to a wooden box.
I placed in a shucked ear of corn.

Turning the handle to shell the corn off the cob

Can you see the corn as it falls into the box?

Closer view of the corn sheller, corn is all shelled

Here is our flock of Chickens enjoying the corn

Close up view of the corn sheller, with a Hen checking out the feed box

.

This old corn sheller, has seen many years of shelling corn. Now I use it to shell the corn, cuts down on the price of buying it already shelled in a bag.

That is just the neatest device! Love the chickens, too!

after i saw this blog, i immediately built me a box, almost like what you have, to attach my hand crank sheller, just like what you have. works great now and i surely appreciate the idea. now i'm having fun shelling corn on my spare time. one thing though, i don't have chickens to peck on those kernels that get thrown outside the box.
